About Me

Your Fractional Marketing
Director
About Me
My work as a Fractional Head of Marketing for established businesses helps ambitious SMEs bridge the gap between business goals and marketing activity.
Many businesses reach a point where they need senior marketing leadership but are not ready for, or do not need, a full-time Marketing Director. I step into that gap, providing strategic direction, commercial thinking and hands-on support without the cost of a full-time hire.
I work closely with owners and leadership teams to identify what is and isn’t working, fix gaps in marketing activity and create plans focused on growth rather than marketing for marketing’s sake. I also help businesses get the most from their existing teams, freelancers and agencies by bringing everything together under one clear strategy.
I’m qualified with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), with a background spanning strategy, campaigns, PR and crisis comms, email marketing, web and design. My role often covers strategic planning, lead generation, brand positioning, PR, content, campaigns, digital marketing oversight, supplier management and measuring performance against real business objectives.
With over 20 years of experience across in-house, agency and business ownership roles, I bring both strategic thinking and practical execution; helping businesses turn fragmented marketing activity into something that delivers measurable results.
Previous Agency Owner; I've Been In Your Shoes
I founded and grew a full-service marketing agency (Nurture Marketing) supporting small businesses across Norfolk and Suffolk; helping ambitious brands with strategy, PR, content, digital marketing and business growth.
The business started in my garden shed and scaled quickly. Within just a few months, I moved into my first office and hired my first employee. At its peak, I had a team of three full-time employees alongside me, generating over £300k in sales and building a strong reputation within the regional business community.
I established myself through thought leadership and industry activity; delivering keynote talks, appearing on the front cover of Norfolk Magazine, and being shortlisted for New Business of the Year at both the EDP Business Awards and the Broadland & South Norfolk Business Awards. I also worked with well-known regional brands including the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, where I managed the press office for two consecutive years at the Royal Norfolk Show.
As founder, I led every aspect of the business including business development, sales and marketing, HR and recruitment, financial planning, supplier management and team leadership.
One of my biggest lessons came through scaling. I learned that clients were investing not just in an agency, but in my strategic input, relationships and experience. Growing a service business taught me the importance of maintaining quality, protecting client relationships and building the right team structure around specialist expertise.
Those lessons continue to shape how I work today as a Fractional Marketing Director; focusing on high-value strategic support rather than growth for growth's sake.
What I do is help you step back, see the full picture, and build a plan that actually makes sense for your business, your goals, and your capacity.
My Approach
Simple, but not always easy:
-
Get clear on what you’re actually trying to achieve
-
Strip away what isn’t working
-
Focus on the few things that will move the needle
-
Build a plan you can realistically stick to
No overcomplicated funnels. No, “you should be on every platform”. Just clear, fabulous, focused marketing that works.
What That Looks Like In Practice
One client came to me after months of “doing everything right” - posting regularly, running ads, updating their website - but not seeing results.
Within a few weeks, we:
-
Refocused their messaging around what actually mattered to their customers
-
Simplified their website journey so it was easier to convert
-
Stripped back their marketing to a few high-impact activities
The result: better quality leads, clearer direction, and far less time wasted on things that weren’t working.
Who I Work With
I have a finite amount of time and energy, so I only work with a few select businesses.
I work best with:
-
Established businesses that know they need to do marketing properly
-
Business owners who are done with winging it or relying on unstrategic advice from freelancers or agencies
-
People who value honesty and straight-talking advice
If you’re looking for someone to just post on Instagram without questioning anything; I’m probably not the right fit.
If you want someone to challenge your thinking and help you build something that actually works; I got you.
A Bit About Me
I've been doing marketing for over 20 years and hold qualifications from both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. I have scaled an agency; stood in your shoes.
Now, I work solo and support a few select companies across East Anglia and beyond that I really vibe with.
My work usually sits somewhere between strategy and delivery; helping businesses figure out what to do, and then supporting them as they roll it out.
What This Means For You
You don’t need more ideas. You need a plan you trust; and the confidence to follow it. That’s exactly what I help you build.
